“Have I Made It?" began as a taunt - a question aimed at the person who once told me my discipline had no place in Angola’s future. It’s ironic, because this project proves the opposite: art and cultural heritage are essential to growth and preservation. The title also comes from a late-night spiral about what it means to “make it” in the art world - is it recognition in the West, in Angola or both? In truth, the question is rhetorical. The work itself is the answer.

I am a young Angolan multifaceted artist and researcher based in London, currently completing my MA in Illustration at Kingston School of Art. My passion for facilitation and the power of teaching fills me with hope and drive to continue building spaces where creativity and cultural storytelling thrive.
